Colca Canyon 02 Days Tour

Overview

The Colca Canyon reaches a depth of 4,160 meters, making it one of the deepest places in the world. It was formed by the erosion of volcanic rock caused by the Colca River along a fault line in the earth’s crust. In addition, it is located near the Valley of the Volcanoes, which is made up of approximately 40 volcanoes, which makes it a geologically active zone.

The Colca Canyon shares a place on the aforementioned list along with other exemplary destinations such as the Galapagos Islands (Ecuador), the city of Kyoto (Japan), the town of Vail (United States) and the island of Saba (Holland).

Flora and fauna:

The most important inhabitant is the condor (vulturgryphus), master of the heights and the largest flying bird in the Andes. Also worth mentioning are the LequeLeque (vanellusresplendens), Guallatas (Chloephagamelanoptera), Pariguanas (Phoenicoparrusandinus) and among the mammals we can mention the Andean fox or atoq, the skunk or añas, wild cats or osjos, vicuñas, taruca, vizcacha, wild guinea pig , among others.

Day 1

Day 01: Aguada Blanca National Reserve – Volcanoes viewpoint – Chivay

Pick up from the hotel from 07:30 to then start our trip to one of the deepest canyons in the world, taking the Yura highway, appreciating the snowy Chachani until we reach La Pampa Cañahuas (Aguada Blanca and Salinas National Reserve), habitat of the beautiful South American camelids, the vicuñas.

Likewise, in the bofedales of Tocrapampa, we will be able to appreciate a great variety of flora and fauna, such as migratory birds, among which the flamingos stand out. We will also pass through the crater of an extinct volcano (Chucura), later we will stop at the Mirador de los Volcanes, considered the highest place on the road (4,910 m.a.s.l.), from where we will appreciate the volcanoes of Ampato, Huallca Huallca and Sabancaya.

At the end of all this tour, we arrive at the town of Chivay at approximately 1:30 p.m. to be able to enjoy a delicious buffet lunch, at the end we will install you in your respective hotel.

Optional visit to the thermal baths in La Calera, depending on the location of the chosen hotel.

Day 2

Day 02: Colca Canyon – Chivay – Arequipa

Early at 6:00 a.m. breakfast at the hotel, later we get ready for a 1-hour trip to the Mirador de la Cruz del Cóndor to appreciate the spectacular flight of the Condor, observe the depth of the Colca Canyon, the deepest in the world . There we will stay between 1 hour and 30 minutes approximately.

Upon returning we will make different stops in traditional towns of Pinchollo, Maca, Yanque that have beautiful colonial churches, as well as in the viewpoints of Choquetico and Antahuilque from where we will observe the impressive terraces of the valley, the tombs and pre-Inca models. Buffet lunch and at the end we will continue the return to Arequipa, arriving at approximately 18:00 pm. (Main Square)

Overview

Colca Canyon in Arequipa is located in the valley of a river in southern Peru and is famous for being one of the deepest in the world. It is a famous destination for hiking. It is a habitat of the giant Andean condor, which can be seen from viewpoints such as the Cruz del Cóndor. The canyon landscape encompasses a green valley and traditional remote villages with terraced agriculture that preceded the Incas. The Colca River is popular for rafting.

Day 1

Day 01: Arequipa – Chivay – Colca Canyon

Pick up from the hotel from 03:00 a.m. to then head towards the Colca Canyon, the trip will be made directly for about 3 hours of travel until we reach the town of Chivay, where we will have breakfast, at the end we will continue our trip for approximately 1 hour until we reach the viewpoint of the Cruz del Condor, in this place we will enjoy for a time of 1 hour approx. and enjoy the majestic flight of the Condors very close to us and the impressive view of the Colca Canyon, considered the deepest in the world.
At the end, we will board the transport to return to the Chivay district, making stops at different places such as El Mirador de Antahuilque and Achoma, from where you can see the beautiful landscape of Colca with its impressive Inca terraces, and the small towns of Pinchollo, Maca and Yanque where its beautiful colonial churches stand out.

Overview

Manu Peru Amazon 05 Days Tour, its a different adventure where we will have the opportunity to feed and camp on the shore of a jungle river, feel and listen to the beautiful sound that our Amazon can give us in the middle of the heart  of the jungle, accompanied by adventures of day and night walks through different trails to discover animals typical of their habitat, such as many species of monkeys, birds and an incredible variability of plants such as the giant trees, palm trees and medicinal plants.

On the last day we will return to Cusco by boat and bus.

NOTE: The program includes several hours of trips in our vehicle and motorized boat, and due to the uncontrollable forces of nature, the program may be subject to change at any time during the trip some times without notice.

Day 1

Day 01: Cusco – Paradise Lodge

Firstly, we will pick you up in Cusco very early in the morning in our vehicle to cross interesting valleys between the mountains of the Andes and picturesque rural communities, stopping in a colonial town of Paucartambo for our breakfast.

Then we will continue our trip to Tres Cruces (Acjanaco (3800 m.a.s.l.) considered the highest point of our trip, likewise the national park begins, then a short hike to get a viewpoint also known as El balcón del Este, where we can appreciate a stunning viewpoint of the cloud forest, here your guide will explain the variety of biodiversity that we can appreciate on our trip. (Flora and Fauna).

Afterwards, we continue with our journey down the road, where we will make different stops to walk inside the cloud forest, to observe different species of birds such us hummingbirds and our national bird known as the cock of the rocks, and with a bit of luck we will appreciate the mating rituals of these birds, also we can see the howler monkeys with our HD telescope.

At the end of this walk, we will enjoy a delicious lunch on the side of the road, then we will continue our trip to Paraiso Lodge where you will be put it up in a private room, and finally dinner.

Day 2

Day 02: Paradise Lodge – Amazon Manu Lodge

After breakfast, we will travel to Atalaya port in our vehicle to take our motorboat down the Madre de Dios River to an amazonian town called Aguas Calientes, in which it homes a natural hot spring where you can take a dip in the thermo – medicinal waters and finally we will enjoy our lunch.

Immediately continuing with our Manu trip, we will arrive to our lodge, a short break before dinner, and subsequently we will do a night walk to spot different nocturnal creatures such as spiders, snakes, frogs and see the red eyes of the alligators, which stand out at night, and in the same way, we will hear the crying of nocturnal animals.

Day 3

Day 03: Amazon Manu Lodge – Camping Tents

After breakfast approx. 7:00 am. we will take a walk to explore and enter the deepest of the heart of the jungle of Manu, where our crew will be carrying your box lunch, you will see many kind of native animals and birds. Also this lush region of Manu park home great quantity and variety of native plants.

Once arrives to our destination, we will set up our camping tents on the river bank, after a pleasant rest, we will go to bathe and dive in the river, and also have the opportunity to learn to fish providing you hooks and try to fish your own fish for dinner, then we get ready to have a night walk activity and spot animals again, tonight we will sleep deep in the Amazon jungle.

Day 4

Day 04: Campsite – Machuwasi Lake – Amazon Manu Lodge

In the morning, we will be walking back to our Palotoa lodge through a different path, and our team will be serving a delicious breakfast, around 9:30 am. we will leave the lodge and we will travel in our motor boat to Machuwasi lake.

Before to reach the Machuwasi lake we will do a hiking to see more birds species, natives trees and plants, once here we will have the opportunity to navigate on a wooden raft to cross the lagoon and appreciate different species of birds such as cormorants, the prehistoric birds called hoatzin and an awesome view from a platform of 30 meters high.

Then, we return to our next lodge to enjoy for a beautiful sunset and a delicious dinner.

Day 5

Day 05: Amazon Manu Lodge – Cusco

Our last day, we will wake up very early morning to travel by boat to see the macaws clay lick, it is an unmissable sight in the peruvian amazon. You will see dozens of parrots and macaws flying to the cliff to eat the clay.
The clay here is rich in minerals that helps them to flush any toxins that they could have eaten through seeds, fruits and flowers. Once finished enjoy this beautiful experience we return to the lodge for breakfast.
After breakfast, we will be taking the boat back to Atalaya port. Here our driver will be waiting for us and he will be driving us back to Cusco.

Overview

The Lake Titicaca has a long list of differents islands that rest on the same lake, there are three that are the most visited daily by tourists:

Uros Island: Set of floating islands built with totora that rest on the crystalline waters of the lake. A place inhabited by settlers of Aymara origin, considered one of the oldest Andean civilizations, because they developed long before the Incas. A citadel on water that has 40 interconnected islands that have houses, schools and churches. And with a population that sustains its economy through activities such as fishing, crafts, tourism and bartering.

Amantaní Island: Located three hours by boat from the city of Puno, this island is considered the largest of Lake Titicaca. It is known as the “island of love”, due to its majestic fields, huge eucalyptus trees and beautiful flowers like the cantuta. A virgin town where the inhabitants and travelers move from one place to another walking, allowing experiencing an experiential tourism.

Taquile Island: Known worldwide for its textile works, this island inhabited by Quechua speakers is characterized by hospitality that bridles its visitors, who experience an experiential or rural tourism staying in their homes and learn more about the community. In addition, it is a perfect destination for adventure tourism, traveling the 567 steps before reaching the highest part of the island.

Day 1

Day 01: Uros and Amantani Islands

The first day we will pick you up at the bus station of the city of Puno and then we will take you directly to our office or to your hotel in case you have already booked one in the city of Puno, later, once you have Once the pick-up time has been coordinated for the second time, we will go directly to Lake Titicaca to board our speedboat and begin our adventure on the highest lake in the world.

Very important:

Day 2

Day 02: Amantani – Taquile – Puno

After breakfast at 8:00 a.m. In the same boat we will sail towards the island of Taquile. We took the walk from the port to the main square during the course. You can appreciate beautiful panoramic views of the lake and the Peruvian – Bolivian mountain range and discover the cultural richness of the native inhabitants. Lake Titicaca in Puno is considered the highest and navigable in the world and it keeps in its cold blue waters the identity and history of a country that remain alive to this day. Day 1

Day 01: Uros – Taquile Island

Overview

Chinchero, Moray and Salineras, are located in the central area of ​​the Sacred Valley of the Incas, this walk will allow you to visit the artisanal textile center, where its inhabitants are talented textile artisans and you will have the opportunity to appreciate their work and see the ancient techniques of spinning, dyeing and weaving that they currently use.

Later, visit the archaeological site of Moray, an agricultural research center with different levels of microclimates, typical of the coast, mountains and jungle of our country, with a temperature difference of up to 5 degrees between one terrace and another. Finally the Salineras, probably built by the Wari civilization between 500 and 1100 AD. Most of these salt wells are no more than 5 square meters and 30 centimeters deep.

Day 1

Day 01: Chinchero – Moray – Salineras

Chinchero, Moray and Salineras, starts with the pick up from the hotel at 08:30 a.m. in our mini van transport, where firstly we will visit the Chinchero artisanal textile center, to be able to appreciate how the alpaca wool dyeing process is carried out, as well as the process of weaving and spinning sweaters, chullos, etc. All these activities are carried out by hand by the artisan women of the place.

Then, we will go to the archaeological center of Moray, where we will be able to observe the different agricultural terraces, built with great wisdom and intelligence by our Inca engineers. To finish our tour in the sacred valley we will visit the Salineras or the salt wells, where you can see more than 3000 thousand salt water wells coming from a mountain very close to the place, which are still in a good state of conservation and operation.

At present, salt continues to be the main source of economic income for the population of Maras, which is why today the place can only be visited from a strategic viewpoint, as well as the place of Moray, due to the conservation of these 2 places.

At the end of the tour, we return to the city of Cusco, arriving at approximately 3:30 p.m.
